Line’s newest vessel will set sail in August 2027
Oceania Cruises will put the first 22 sailings on its newest vessel Sonata on sale on January 28.
Oceania Sonata’s inaugural season will run from August 2027 to April 2028, with cruises ranging from seven to 16 days across 90 destinations.
The 1,390-passenger vessel will be the first in the luxury line’s Sonata Class and feature two new suite categories and debut two restaurant concepts.
The maiden voyage will sail a 14-day cruise from Civitavecchia to Trieste on August 7, 2027, with ports of call in Catania, Valletta, Katakolon, Bar and Zadar.
Following that sailing, the ship will call at Barcelona, Athens and Lisbon and “lesser-known ports” of Paros, Koper, Sarandë and Palamós, with overnight stays in Istanbul, Livorno and Bordeaux.
Sonata will then transit the Atlantic to Miami to operate a tropical season, with ports of call in the Caribbean and Latin America, such as Bridgetown in Barbados, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa in Mexico, Puerto Quetzal in Guatemala, plus a transit through the Panama Canal.
Chief luxury officer Jason Montague said: “Oceania Sonata’s inaugural season is defined by the cultural diversity and geographic variety of the destinations she visits.
“As the first of four ships in the Sonata Class, her premiere sets the tone for the thoughtfully designed itineraries, exceptional comfort and meaningful, unrushed freedom to explore the world that underscore the continued evolution of Oceania Cruises.”
