James Scott joins from Hapag Lloyd Cruises
SeaDream Yacht Club has recruited James Scott as director of trade sales for the UK and Ireland.
Scott joins from Hapag Lloyd Cruises where he was UK and Ireland sales manager, and he replaces Mark Schmitt who joined JTA Travel Group as head of cruise last year.
Last year, the luxury operator hosted more than 100 UK agents on SeaDream’s II’s maiden call in London, where line president Bob Lepisto said it was “always looking to enhance our presence in the UK market”.
SeaDream Yacht Club president Andreas Brynestad said: "James brings a deep understanding of the UK and Ireland travel trade, combined with a thoughtful, relationship-driven approach to sales.
"His experience across premium and luxury cruise brands, along with his commitment to long-term partnerships, makes him a strong addition to our team as we continue to grow in this important market.”
Scott added: “SeaDream’s approach to yachting—intimate, unhurried, and highly personal—stands apart in the market.
"I look forward to working closely with our trade partners to introduce more guests to a yachting experience that prioritises time, access, and genuine connection.”
Prior to starting at Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, Scott was a business development and engagement manager at Cunard.
He has also held sales roles at Oceania Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Carnival Corporation and Seabourn over the past decade.
Scott started his career at Holland America Line as a personal cruise specialist.
