The 36-room hotel will join Nobu Barbuda Restaurant on the Caribbean island
Nobu Hospitality has unveiled plans to open a 36-room resort on the Caribbean island of Barbuda.
Nobu Beach Inn will join the brand’s Nobu Barbuda Restaurant, which opened in 2020 on the island’s Princess Diana Beach.
As well as 36 rooms spread across 17 individual villas, the property will feature a beach club, oceanfront pool, indoor and outdoor spa, and kids’ club. There will also be an outdoor cinema, two tennis courts, two padel courts and a gym pavilion.
In addition to Nobu, guests will also be able to dine at the oceanfront grill and sushi bar.
A watersports centre will offer dinghy sailing, water skiing and kite surfing, while sailboats and motor yachts will be available for sunset cruises, beach picnics, fishing trips, scuba diving excursions and trips to neighbouring islands.
A roster of wellness practitioners, DJs, fitness experts and chefs will visit the resort to offer “unique culinary and wellness experiences”.
The opening will also see Nobu’s residential portfolio expand with the addition of 25 beachfront residences, each consisting of a four or five-bedroom bungalow.
The resort, which is scheduled for completion in late 2026, has been described as a “deeply personal” project for Nobu co-founder Robert De Niro, who first discovered the property site more than 30 years ago on a boat trip from Antigua.
De Niro said: “Since I first stepped foot on Barbuda, I knew it was special. We wanted to create a place that’s comfortable, where everyone wants to gather and embrace the essence of the island.
“The Nobu Beach Inn is designed to complement its surroundings while maintaining the landscape’s natural beauty.”
