Private-island resort will feature 56 villas and 10 residences
Nobu Hospitality has unveiled plans to open its first property in the Maldives.
Nobu Hotel, Residences and Restaurant Maldives will be set on a private island in the Laamu atoll and will feature 26 one and two-bedroom beach villas, as well as 30 one and two-bedroom overwater villas.
There will also be 10 Nobu Island Estate Residences, each set on its own private island.
The residences will feature bedrooms, bathrooms, pavilion-style living and dining areas and private beachfronts. Owners will also have access to their own private yacht, as well as all the hotel’s amenities.
The property’s Nobu restaurant will be located on a private island and will offer a bar and lounge serving the brand’s signature Japanese-Peruvian cuisine.
Elsewhere, the property will feature a spa, fitness facilities, a diving centre, tennis courts, event spaces and a swimming pool.
Trevor Horwell, Nobu Hospitality chief executive, said: “The Maldives is a highly sought-after tourist destination that has long been on our radar for a unique resort concept.
"Before we embarked on this journey, we envisioned something truly special. As part of the new generation of Maldives hotels, we aim to set a new standard of rarity. Our priority is to create a superior island experience rather than follow a formulaic approach – one where design, world-class dining and the natural environment harmoniously coexist."
