Initial launch will see six luxury resorts debut on country’s northwest coast
Saudia Arabia’s regenerative tourism project Amaala is set to open on the country’s northwestern coast “in the coming months”.
The initial launch of the “ultra-luxury coastal lifestyle destination”, which has been developed by real estate company Red Sea Global, will see six luxury resorts open in the region.
Equinox Resort and Residences, Amaala, will feature 128 rooms and suites alongside two penthouses and branded residences. There will also be five dining venues, a spa and fitness club.
At Four Seasons Resort and Residences, Amaala at Triple Bay, there will be 220 rooms and suites, as well as villas with private pools and 26 branded residential villas.
Nammos Resort and Residences, Amaala, will be a “social and solo wellness playground” with 110 rooms and 20 apartments, while Rosewood Resort, Amaala, will be divided into zones to cater for families, couples and wellness travellers.
The destination will also house a Six Senses property with 100 pool suites and villas, as well as 25 branded residences.
Alongside the hotels, Amaala will feature a yacht club (pictured), marine life institute and Marina Village.
The Wellness Route, a three-mile linear park connecting the resorts and experiences, will also open in the next few months.
The destination has been developed around “regenerative principles” and will be powered by 100% renewable energy. Amaala is also expected to create up to 50,000 new jobs and, upon completion, contribute around $3 billion USD to Saudi Arabia’s GDP.
John Pagano, Red Sea Global’s group chief executive, said: “Deriving from the Arabic word for hope, Amaala offers a new coastal lifestyle rooted in wellness right here in Saudi Arabia. Guests and residents are invited to discover and honour what it means for them to live longer and better, whether that be serene retreats or sea and sun-soaked adventures.
“Proceeding directly from timeless Saudi traditions of retreat, renewal and connection, Amaala is the new home for wellness in the world.”
