Six & Six Private Islands hopes to offer six properties by 2032
New Maldivian hotel brand Six & Six Private Islands has unveiled plans to open six luxury properties in the next six years, including two in 2026.
The group will aim to frame its hotels with a “distinctly Maldivian lens” rather than “global resort templates”.
The brand’s first two openings will both be located in South Malé Atoll, with Rah Gili Maldives (pictured)expected to open next month, followed by Don Maaga Maldives towards the end of the year.
Rah Gili Maldives will comprise 74 villas, including 37 overwater options, as well as a spa, wellness centre, kids’ club and beach club with live entertainment and DJs.
Four bars will be on offer, along with six dining venues providing Japanese, Asian fusion, Indian and Italian cuisine, plus fresh Maldivian seafood.
Set beside a protected marine sanctuary, the resort will support active coral and marine conservation and will also house a diving centre.
Nightly rates start from $1,120 including breakfast and a return speedboat transfer to Velana International Airport.
Don Maaga Maldives is set to house “some of the largest” accommodation options in the Maldives, with 56 beach and water pool villas ranging in size from 5,500 sq ft to 16,000+ sq ft and private pools up to 40 metres in length.
The resort will offer six restaurants and three bars, overwater and on-land spa treatments and the services of wellness consultants and personal trainers. An outdoor cinema, disco and marine conservation programmes will also be on offer.
The brand’s four other expected openings include a wellness retreat also in South Malé Atoll, along with an “eco-hideaway” resort and residences in Noonu Atoll, an “ultra-luxury sanctuary” in Alif Dhaal Atoll and a family destination in Dhaalu Atoll. The schedule for these openings is yet to be announced.
