Scott Sangster joins the operator from Hays Travel
If Only has appointed former travel agent Scott Sangster to the newly created role of business development executive for Scotland and Ireland.
His appointment comes as the trade-only operator moves to provide more personalised, localised service to agents in key regions as the luxury market continues to see “significant” growth.
Sangster started his travel career began in 2011 as an apprentice with Thomas Cook in St Andrews.
He later transitioned to Hays Travel in 2019 following their acquisition of the Thomas Cook retail estate, progressing from assistant manager in Perth to a management position in Dunfermline.
His primary focus will be working closely with head of sales (north) Gemma Pinder-Davidson in expanding the operator’s footprint and strengthening relationships with regional agent partners and homeworkers.
If Only sales director Tracy Docherty said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Scott to our expanding trade support team.
“His extensive management background and sector-specific knowledge mean he will transition into the role with ease, allowing us to further increase the support we offer our growing portfolio of national and regional partners.”
Sangster, who will spend time integrating with the company’s head office team in Glasgow before taking to the road, said: “I am incredibly excited to join such a prestigious name in the luxury market.
“I look forward to engaging with agents across the north and contributing to If Only’s journey toward becoming the UK and Ireland’s favourite luxury tour operator.”
