News comes as brand expands Italy offering with additional Venice Simplon-Orient-Express journeys
Belmond has unveiled plans to open a new villa at its Sicilian property Grand Hotel Timeo.
The residence will debut in 2026 with 21 rooms that can either be booked separately or as part of a buy-out.
It will feature a private infinity pool, a lounge and bars both indoors and on the terrace.
The villa will be located next door to Grand Hotel Timeo, which will unveil a Dior Spa in the new year, which villa guests will be able to enjoy alongside all other hotel amenities, including its Michelin-starred Otto Geleng restaurant.
Dan Ruff, Belmond’s chief executive, said: “We continue to strengthen our distinctive global portfolio, celebrating the vibrancy of each property’s slow luxury identity and driven by our passion for crafting the future of legendary travel.
“Through exceptional journeys, mindful experiences and new spas and restaurants, we further nurture a deeper appreciation for taking time to truly connect with each destination.”
The news follows the addition of four new train itineraries to the brand’s Venice Simplon-Orient-Express portfolio.
The new programmes, which will launch in April, will start in Paris before visiting one of the following Belmond properties: Hotel Cipriani in Venice; Caruso on the Amalfi Coast; Splendido in Portofino; and Villa San Michele in Florence, which is reopening in the spring following an 18-month renovation.
