Four Seasons I is scheduled to enter service next year
The first yacht from Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts has completed initial sea trials ahead of its official launch next year.
Four Seasons I, which has 95 suites, underwent five days of tests at sea from its shipyard in Ancona, Italy.
The conclusion of this first phase brings the ultra-luxury vessel closer to its inaugural season, with a second sea trial planned later this month in preparation for launch in January.
The yacht, to be under the control of high profile former Celebrity Cruises captain Kate McCue, underwent more than 60 rigorous evaluations, including propulsion, navigation, mechanical, electrical, safety, environmental and comfort-system tests, culminating in a six-hour endurance run at full power.
The trials also assessed comfort and systems across suites and public areas, including vibration, noise levels and climate control.
The ship will first offer winter and spring itineraries in the Caribbean, followed by Mediterranean sailings in the summer.
Itineraries released last month for summer 2027 include more five-night sailings in the Mediterranean and Egypt including 40 new destinations covered across 33 itineraries.
Brand chief executive Ben Trodd said: “The results of these trials speak to the level of craftsmanship and technical rigour behind Four Seasons I.
“Seeing the yacht perform as intended gives us real confidence as we move into the final stages ahead of welcoming our first guests.”
The joint owner and operator of Four Seasons Yachts secured €400 million in financing for a second ultra-luxury vessel in May.
Four Seasons II will be built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, with the new ship due to be delivered in 2027 for its inaugural sailing in 2028.
