The Setai St Maarten will be brand’s first property outside the US and Middle East
The Setai Hotels is set to make its Caribbean debut in 2028 with The Setai St Maarten.
Existing member of The Leading Hotels of the World Vie L’Ven will be converted into a 205-key resort and set of private residences on the shores of Saint Martin’s Indigo Bay.
Accommodation will include a range of one to four-bedroom options, featuring examples of local craftsmanship and access to a concierge team.
The resort will be home to five restaurant concepts, including Ocean Grill Beach Club and Jaya, which will both be inspired by the brand’s first hotel The Setai, Miami Beach.
A beach club with butler service will be incorporated in the development, as well as three pools including an adult-only option, tennis and pickleball courts, on-beach watersports, a kids’ playroom and spa.
Guests will also have access to a protected nature reserve.
The Nakash family, owners of The Setai, said: “We are thrilled to bring The Setai to the shores of St Maarten, a destination that perfectly complements our vision of timeless luxury and cultural inspiration.
“This project marks an exciting next chapter for our brand as we continue to grow globally, always guided by the principles of authenticity, sophistication and unparalleled guest experience.”
Zev Mandelbaum, president and chief executive of real estate firm Altree Developments, which has partnered with The Setai on the project, added: “From the very beginning, our vision has been to create something extraordinary for the island. Teaming up with the Nakash family to bring The Setai’s first Caribbean property to life allows us to honour St Maarten’s beauty and distinct character while shaping a new level of hospitality for the region.”
The Setai St Maarten will be the fourth addition to the hotel group’s portfolio alongside The Setai, Miami Beach; The Setai Tel Aviv; and The Setai of Galilee.
