Move aims to ‘recognise and champion’ luxury advisors
Carrier has shared details of its new agent accreditation programme that will endorse advisors who are “among the elite in their field”.
Speaking at its annual Summit conference at Bvlgari Hotel London today (December 10), Rick Milne, the operator’s sales and commercial director, described the programme as “a true collaboration between us and our agent community”.
The initiative is designed to recognise and champion the “most credible and experienced” advisors in the luxury travel sector, serving as a mark of trust and expertise for clients.
It was launched in response to concerns among Carrier’s agent community about “the growing number of inexperienced agents claiming luxury expertise”.
Agents must meet “strict criteria” to qualify, including demonstrated trust and reliability, investment in product knowledge and training, and a commitment to luxury travel as their primary profession.
Accredited advisors will have access to an “instantly recognisable and aspirational” logo designed to communicate credibility.
A virtual briefing for endorsed agents, of which there is currently 56, will take place on December 17.
Milne said: “This initiative is the result of close collaboration with our agent community. We listened to their concerns and created a solution that celebrates true professionalism.
“With over 40 years of heritage and recognition as one of the UK’s most respected luxury tour operators, we are proud to use our platform to shine a light on those who share our values and standards.”
He said the operator acknowledges the programme is “not a silver bullet” and won’t stop “inexperienced agents” entering the market, but it is one of the “many small ways we’re doing our bit to support our partners”.
Carrier’s second-annual Summit brought together agents, suppliers and members of the operator’s senior team.
