The ship’s refurbishment will be focused on two suite categories and some public spaces
Crystal Symphony will enter a scheduled dry dock for three weeks in November.
The ship’s refurbishment will be focused on updating two suite categories and several public spaces.
The Aquamarine and Sapphire Classic suites on deck 10 will undergo a “complete redesign” with new furnishings, carpets and wall coverings, while its existing layout will be preserved.
The Atrium and Crystal Cove will be transformed to provide a “more modern and fluid layout” with additional seating, a new chandelier and a two-storey mosaic produced by DeCastelli.
The water feature will also be removed and the piano relocated.
The Starlite Club will receive a redesigned dance floor and new ceiling centrepiece, and the restrooms on deck five will have new flooring, wall finishes and countertops, while the Bistro will have its wooden floors refurbished.
In addition, the stair lobbies on decks five and six will be updated with new ceiling structures, lighting, architectural wall details and brass finishes around the lift entrances.
Symphony will also receive extensive technical upgrades to “ensure long-term performance and sustainability”, which will include new fuel and oil purifiers designed to accommodate biodiesel.
The ship is expected to resume service to host the line’s second annual Wellness Retreat voyages, the first of which is due to depart on November 26.
Crystal senior vice-president of hotel operations Bernie Leypold said: “Our goal is to ensure that every space aboard our ships feels both timeless and contemporary, infused with warmth, elegance and thoughtful design.
“These enhancements aboard Crystal Symphony reflect our promise to create meaningful experiences for our guests at every touchpoint.”
