Move comes as brand prepares to ‘enhance its global footprint’
Chedi Hospitality has promoted Stephan Schupbach to president and group chief executive.
Schupbach joined the company in November 2023 as chief executive with more than three decades of experience in luxury hospitality.
He has previously held senior leadership positions across international hotel groups, including One&Only Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton and Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, at various properties in Europe, Asia, the US and the Middle East.
Since joining Chedi Hospitality, Schupbach has “played a central role” in advancing the group’s global strategy and strengthening its relationships with owners, partners and development stakeholders.
In his expanded role, he will be responsible for leading the group’s long-term strategic direction, managing the brand’s vision and overseeing the integrated performance of its hospitality and branded residences portfolio.
Schupbach will also oversee several initiatives to support Chedi Hospitality’s expansion plans, including the launch of a boutique hotel brand across new markets, as well as the creation of a dedicated F&B business focused on developing signature culinary brands and standalone concepts.
The board chairman of Chedi Hospitality said: “Stephan’s appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in his leadership and in the future direction of Chedi Hospitality. His strategic insight, commitment to excellence and ability to unite teams around a shared purpose have reinforced our momentum globally. We look forward to the next phase of growth under his guidance.”
