Waldorf Astoria Rabat-Salé houses 55 rooms and suites in country’s tallest building
Waldorf Astoria has opened its first property in Morocco.
Waldorf Astoria Rabat-Salé is located inside the Mohammed VI Tower, the country’s tallest building with 55 storeys, at the meeting point of twin cities Rabat and Salé.
The opening comes as the brand’s parent company Hilton recognises Morocco as “one of the world’s most rapidly evolving destinations”.
The property features 55 rooms and suites, each with the service of a Personal Concierge.
The Waldorf Astoria Spa showcases “Moroccan wellness” with a hammam, heated quartz sand table, ice room, sauna, lyashi dome and six treatment rooms offering traditional treatments.
Restaurant Aldabaran serves “refined gastronomy” from chef Alain Ducasse, while Brasserie Magnolia provides Mediterranean-inspired dishes.
Waldorf Astoria’s signature Peacock Alley venue also features, serving afternoon tea and cocktails, alongside the Sapphire Room pan-Asian bar and Après coffee lounge.
The hotel is home to one of north Africa’s “biggest private art collections”, with 7,000 pieces displayed around the property.
Its design is said to “reflect the artistry and landscape of Morocco”, with intricate motifs and marble details.
Unesco World Heritage Sites Kasbah of the Udayas and Hassan Tower are nearby, as well as the historic medinas of Rabat and Salé.
Guy Hutchinson, Hilton’s Middle East and Africa president, said: “We are proud to bring the iconic Waldorf Astoria brand to Rabat-Salé, setting a new benchmark for refined luxury in Morocco’s capital.
“This opening marks an exciting new chapter for the brand as we continue to expand our luxury portfolio across key cities, offering discerning travellers unparalleled access to the heritage, artistry and ambition that defines this destination.”
