Group to traverse Kalamata’s Mount Taygetos and Ridomo Gorge in support of St Catherine’s Hospice
Eight agents have been selected to join Grecotel Hotels & Resorts’ second annual charity hike in Greece.
The three-night event, held in Kalamata on May 17-20, will see the group trek to the summit of Mount Taygetos and traverse Ridomo Gorge.
The challenge will raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice in West Sussex, which provides physical and emotional support to those living with a life-limiting or terminal condition.
The agents taking part are: Courtney Blackett, Travel Counsellors; Carly Cockburn, Travel With Carly; Laura Eastwood, Lincolnshire Co-op Travel; Becky Miles, Travel Counsellors; Rebecca Morris, The JLT Group; Sarah Roberts, Barrhead Travel; Emma Teggart, Designer Travel; and Jaclyn Wilson, Just Travel Group.
The trip will be hosted by Grecotel’s sales and markets strategy director Kostas Sinis and Aspire’s UK account director Toni Austin.
The group will stay at the recently renovated Grecotel Filoxenia Kalamata, which features 162 refreshed rooms and suites, a renovated Olive Spa and a new beach club.
It marks Grecotel’s second charity hike in Greece following a successful inaugural event in September 2025, which saw nine agents scale Crete’s tallest mountain, Mount Psiloritis, and Europe’s second-longest gorge in support of Breast Cancer Now.
The group raised more than £10,000 for the charity – smashing their initial fundraising target of £5,000.
Sinis said: “I am beyond honoured to organise Grecotel Hotels & Resorts’ second charity hike in Greece. The event follows the great success of our inaugural charity hike in 2025, which took place in Crete at Grecotel Creta Palace and saw us raise more than £10,000 for Breast Cancer Now – a truly impressive and vital charity so close to so many of our hearts.
“This year, we are choosing to support St Catherine’s Hospice. The charity first came to our attention at the Aspire Awards last November, where Toni delivered an appeal to inspire donations, telling the story of how St Catherine’s cared for her mum from 2022 to 2023.
“We’re thrilled to be supporting this small but mighty charity and hope to once again surpass our fundraising target while taking agents on an epic Greek adventure.”
