Chief operating officer Brad Bourland promoted to president
Global travel agency network Virtuoso has confirmed two new C-suite appointments as it “scales for continued global growth”.
The network’s current chief operating officer Brad Bourland has assumed the role of president, while Tristan Dowell joins the organisation as chief commercial officer.
Bourland, who joined the company in 2020, has played a “pivotal role” in shaping Virtuoso’s global strategy, and will continue to serve as acting chief operating officer until a replacement is named.
As president, Bourland will “advance the company’s long-term vision” by “aligning” teams and resources. He will also lead the newly created C-suite leadership team.
Dowell joins the organisation having spent more than two decades at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, which also saw him gain “first-hand experience” as a Virtuoso preferred partner.
In his new role of chief commercial officer, which he begins on April 14, Dowell will oversee the organisation’s commercial strategy with a focus on “driving business growth”.
Matthew D Upchurch, Virtuoso chairman and chief executive, said: “Virtuoso is best understood as a platform that enables tens of thousands of advisors and partners worldwide, supported by fewer than 400 team members.
“Our strategies, platforms and commercial frameworks shape how a vast global network operates every day, and as we continue to scale, that complexity only grows. I’m excited by what’s ahead as Brad steps into the role of president, bringing strong leadership to guide our next phase of growth.
“Tristan has been a long-time supporter of Virtuoso and our members. His perspective as a former partner will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen how we deliver value across the network.”
