Penicuik Estate near Edinburgh has opened a new exclusive-use property, Penicuik House, following a full restoration.
The private house contains 16 en suite bedrooms, many of which are suites. Larger groups can also extend into five nearby cottages, with all six properties sleeping up to 48 guests in total.
Penicuik House contains a dining room with space for up to 48, as well as a wood-panelled bar. The Estate Kitchen sits at the centre of the property, with chefs cooking “with the seasons” using “fire, smoke and Scotland’s finest produce”.
Elsewhere, Penicuik House features multiple drawing rooms with “colour, character and warmth”, as well as a snug and cinema room.
Artwork, antiques and heirlooms from the estate’s owners, the Clerk family, are dotted throughout the house.
During stays at the property, guests can book garden yoga, guided nature walks, wild swimming in the High Pond, electric bike rides into the Pentlands and in-room spa treatments.
The opening comes as part of the estate’s 50-year regeneration plans, with an orangery set to open in 2026 designed for events, and other accommodation options planned.
Rates to stay at Penicuik House start from £9,750 per night for a minimum of two nights, including breakfast.
