Property’s lobby, restaurant and bars now feature a botanical theme
The Charles, a Rocco Forte Hotel, in Munich has unveiled an extensive redesign of its ground floor.
The 160-key hotel was first opened in 2007 by Sir Rocco Forte, and is now a member of the Leading Hotels of the World.
Interior designers Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen worked with Sir Rocco Forte’s sister Olga Polizzi to introduce a new colour palette and botanical theme in the lobby, restaurant and bars.
The Florio Restaurant & Bar draws inspiration from the city’s nearby Old Botanical Gardens, with green tones and olive trees throughout.
A new 200-metre terrace has also been added, with wrought iron furniture and parasols for outdoor dining.
The Circle Bar has opened with an Art Deco design, and is named as a tribute to the red steel ring installation by Italian artist Mauro Staccioli in the square outside the hotel.
The lobby now features a “striking central table framed by elegant statues and lavish floral arrangements”, and a plaster piece by French artist Francois Mascarello on the back wall.
