Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is set to make its Austrian debut on October 20 with a hotel in Vienna.
Set in the city’s cultural First District on Riemergasse, Mandarin Oriental, Vienna features 86 rooms and 52 suites, including three Mandarin Signature Suites and one Royal Suite.
Housed in a former Art Nouveau courthouse, the hotel has been designed to incorporate “the city’s historic grandeur and artistic innovation”, preserving original design elements.
The property includes a seven-treatment-room spa, providing holistic wellness therapies and “rituals inspired by local traditions”. An indoor pool, fitness centre and VIP treatment area are set to feature.
The hotel will host four dining options: seafood-focused fine-dining restaurant Le Sept, with French and Asian influences; Atelier 7 – Brasserie for all-day comfort food; Atelier 7 – The Café to highlight traditional Viennese coffeehouses; and Atelier 7 – Izakaya and Bar for Japanese-inspired cocktails.
Mario Habicher, general manager of the Mandarin Oriental, Vienna, said: “Our aim is to create a place that is both a retreat for international travellers and a meeting place for locals with an appreciation of the extraordinary. The historic Art Nouveau building on Riemergasse provides the ideal setting for this.”
