Mandarin Oriental Seoul is slated to open in 2030
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is expanding its portfolio to South Korea with a property in Seoul expected to open in 2030.
Located in the city’s Central Business District, Mandarin Oriental Seoul will feature 128 rooms and suites. The brand said the property will have an “intimate and residential atmosphere, drawing on the character of a curated private club”.
There will be several dining venues, including a destination restaurant on the 21st floor with panoramic views of the city, alongside a Chinese eatery, a Korean chef’s counter and an international venue, all situated on the 20th floor of the hotel. Guests will also find a bar, a lounge and The Mandarin Cake Shop on the ground floor.
The property will house the brand’s signature spa, which will span four floors and feature a 25-metre pool, fitness centre and outdoor terrace. Treatments will be focused on several themes, including traditional healing, future bathing, K beauty, mind reset and body performance.
Additional guest facilities will include a golf academy, multiball court, games room and dedicated kids’ club.
Group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental, Laurent Kleitman, said: “Seoul is a dynamic cultural and economic hub and we are proud to be announcing our entry into this important market. Mandarin Oriental Seoul will reflect our commitment to thoughtful growth, offering an experience that captures the essence of the destination while delivering the legendary service and design our guests expect.”
The announcement highlights Mandarin Oriental’s strengthening presence in Asia, with several additional properties also in development across China. Properties are expected to open in Hangzhou and Nanjing later this year, in Suzhou in 2026 and in Xi’an in 2029.
