Journey Beyond acquires western Australia dive specialist

Journey Beyond has acquired a dive specialist in western Australia as it seeks to further expand its experiential offering. 

 

Exmouth Dive & Whalesharks Ningaloo (EDWN) operates a range of excursions around the Ningaloo Reef, including snorkelling with turtles and guided swimming trips with whale sharks and humpback whales.

 

Journey Beyond said both brands already enjoyed a “close relationship”, with EDWN delivering the destination experiences at Journey Beyond’s luxury tented camp Sal Salis, which sits on the Ningaloo Reef.

 

Journey Beyond - which operates a number of train journeys, cruises, attractions, camps and lodges across Australia - said the acquisition “builds on [its] growth strategy”, with the group now encompassing a “broad range of experiences”.

Alicia Triggs, executive general manager of sales and partnerships at Journey Beyond, added: “The announcement builds on Journey Beyond’s growth strategy, particularly its arm of experiences that complement existing brands. 

 

“The integration of EDWN into the Journey Beyond Group and Exmouth operations provides an important enhancement for Sal Salis, allowing end-to-end experiences to be offered in a way that only Journey Beyond can.”

 

Once regulatory approvals are obtained, EDWN will operate within Journey Beyond’s Marine Division under general manager Niko Peranovic.
