Safari specialist Great Plains has introduced two exclusive-use villas at its Mpala Jena Camp in Zimbabwe.
The first waterside villa is now open, while the second is set to debut in November. Both three-bedroom properties can house either six adults or four adults and three children.
Each villa contains a central living area, swimming pool and three riverfront suites, with a private butler, guide services and a personal open safari-drive vehicle and motorboat included.
Villa guests can also enjoy sunrise and sunset cruises on the Zambezi River aboard traditional dhow boats, and half-day excursions to nearby Victoria Falls.
Both villas come with views over the Zambezi and regular drinking spots for zebras and impala.
The properties’ design is inspired by the “Puglia style”, with thatched roofs, earthy tones, natural textures, arches, light and open spaces.
The original Mpala Jena Camp, three miles from the new private villas, houses three two-person suites and two family suites around a central swimming pool.
Dereck Joubert, Great Plains’ chief executive, said: “These exceptional residences redefine both luxury and seclusion, answering the growing desire among our guests for expansive private retreats, ideal for extended families and longer stays.
“The region invites exploration of every kind, from exhilarating white-water rafting alongside Victoria Falls and high-wire adventures across the gorge to enriching cultural encounters like a guided historical high tea. At Mpala Jena Private Villas, endless adventure, refined comfort and unparalleled privacy converge to create an experience like no other.”
Stays at Mpala Jena Private Villas start from £4,765 per person on an all-inclusive basis, including return transfers from Victoria Falls International Airport.
The Great Plains portfolio features 15 owned and partner safari properties in Botswana, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
