Experimental Group to expand into Portugal

Experimental Group is set to expand its European footprint with the opening of a property in Portugal.

Experimental Porto is expected to open in autumn 2026 in the former Hotel Infante Sagres in Porto, which dates back to 1951.

The brand will bring its “singular design, sophisticated dining and unique cocktail experiences” to the new property, with further details expected in the coming months.

The launch of Experimental Porto establishes Portugal as a “new strategic destination” for the group, with more openings expected in the country “in the near future”.

It will follow on from the debut of Experimental Roma, which will begin welcoming guests next summer.
