The Chedi Niseko is set to launch in summer 2029
Luxury hotel group Chedi Hospitality is set to open its first Japanese property in June 2029.
The Chedi Niseko will be developed in the alpine skiing region of Hirafu in Niseko, offering “seamless” access to the slopes and year-round outdoor pursuits.
The brand also plans to host a range of winter culinary experiences over the next three winters to showcase traditional Japanese cuisine as part of the pre-opening strategy.
Stephan Schupbach, Chedi Hospitality’s chief executive, said: “Niseko presents a rare convergence of natural beauty, international appeal and all-season relevance.
“Our expansion into Japan speaks to our long-term commitment to cultivating meaningful hospitality experiences in destinations that share our values of authenticity, sophistication and global connectivity.”
The hotel will join the Chedi portfolio’s other properties in Dubai, Egypt, Montenegro, Oman, Qatar, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, alongside upcoming openings in Asia, the Middle East and the United States.
