New itineraries added as consumers seek ‘alternative ways’ to travel
Luxury Australian tour operator Captain’s Choice has added a series of new train and cruise itineraries to its collection.
The additions come as travellers continue to “lean into slow travel and search for alternative ways to explore destinations”.
Among the new itineraries is the 17-day Mediterranean Riches & La Dolce Vita journey, departing June 30, 2027. Guests will experience two nights on board the newly launched La Dolce Vita Orient Express train and seven nights sailing the Italian and French Rivieras, Corsica and Sardinia on Silversea vessel Silver Ray (pictured).
Travellers will also enjoy private cellar visits in Burgundy and Tuscany, a cooking class in Portofino and a helicopter ride over Monaco’s harbour. Prices start from £27,200 per person.
Elsewhere, the Remote Laos River Cruise, Thailand & Malaysia by Luxury Rail itinerary offers 16 guests the chance to explore Laos and enjoy a sailing along the Mekong with a private charter of boutique vessel Heritage Line Anouvong.
The 13-day expedition also traverses northern Thailand and Singapore, before concluding with a journey along Malaysia’s west coast on the Eastern & Orient Express train.
Taking place later this year between September 26 and October 8, the itinerary starts at £18,500 per person.
The third new addition is an exclusively rail-only itinerary calling in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The Four Stans Aboard the Golden Eagle Train journey will depart on October 13, 2027, following the Silk Road and showcasing central Asia’s “untamed landscapes”.
The 17-day trip starts from £22,450 per person.
Each group will be accompanied by an experienced tour manager and tour doctor. Captain’s Choice provides private transfers, valet luggage service and a concierge visa service.
