Oetker Hotels property Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa has reopened following an extensive 18-month renovation.
The grande dame hotel, which has been operating in the German town of Baden-Baden in the Black Forest for more than 150 years, now features 79 “revitalised” rooms and suites, with more than 27 unique room concepts.
New-look rooms have been influenced by 19th-century Beaux-Arts and English interior styles, including patterned textiles, antique writing desks and local wooden furnishings.
Bathrooms have been "entirely reimagined” with marble, modern lighting systems and artisan-crafted fixtures.
On the fifth floor, newly created rooms and suites cater to families and longer stays, with more connecting room options "than ever before”.
Historic details such as 19th-century wooden beams have also been preserved and revealed for the first time.
The redesign was led by Countess Bergit Douglas of MM Design, who also recently led the creative direction of new accommodation at sister property Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France.
Brenners Spa & Wellbeing remains at the centre of the property offering holistic treatments and detox rituals, including sound baths and forest bathing, while Brenners Medical Care offers diagnostics and personalised wellness programmes provided by “leading German physicians”.
Stephan Boesch, the hotel’s managing director, said: “This is not just a reopening – it’s a renaissance. We’ve honoured Brenners’ remarkable heritage while creating a deeply personal, refined experience that reflects how people want to travel and live today – surrounded by beauty, nature and meaning.”
Timo Gruenert, chief executive of Oetker Hotels, added: “Brenners has always stood for refined individuality. With this renovation, we haven’t just refreshed a hotel - we’ve reignited its spirit. This new chapter reflects our belief that true luxury today is harnessed in our core values: family spirit, elegance, and genuine kindness.”
