In the shadow of the Mathews Range, eight tented suites are suspended in the tree canopy, connected by wooden walkways above thickets of foliage frequented by elephants and giraffes. Each of the en suite tents has an outdoor shower and balcony with sofas for relaxing while listening to birds chirp and baboons chatter. The communal area comprises an infinity pool overlooking a watering hole, and an open-air living and dining space, just steps away from a small clearing in the wilderness that’s perfectly positioned to gaze at the nearby peaks – a dreamy spot for sundowners by the campfire. All guests dine together, and we enjoy a memorable evening of good food and conversation, interrupted only when we are informed that elephants are gathering at the watering hole. We abandon our plates to watch eight of the magnificent animals drink, bathe and play – truly incredible.

Book it: All-inclusive nightly rates start from $1,295 per person, including a $185 nightly conservancy fee.
