The 60-room hotel in Patagonian wilderness is set to open in 2028
Anantara Hotels & Resorts is set to open its first property in Argentina in early 2028.
Anantara Ushuaia Patagonia Resort will be located in the world’s southernmost city – Ushuaia, set between the Andes mountains and Beagle Channel – and act as a gateway to Antarctica.
The waterfront hotel will house 60 rooms and suites, a selection of dining venues and a spa and wellness facility, where treatment rooms will be housed in glass domes beside the water.
Close to Tierra del Fuego National Park, the property will offer experiences showcasing local customs and “environmental preservation”.
The property – which will be part of the Costa Susana development – will also sit close to world-class ski resorts and Ushuaia airport.
Chief executive of Anantara’s parent company Minor Hotels Dillip Rajakarier said: "Ushuaia, often called the ‘End of the World,’ is the gateway to Antarctica and a breathtaking destination in its own right.
“Bringing Anantara to South America is a key priority for the group, and we are thrilled to introduce our brand in a setting as bold, remote and awe-inspiring as Ushuaia."
