W Hotels opens property in Florence 

W Hotels has opened its second property in Italy. 

Housed in the former Grand Hotel Majestic, W Florence is located on Piazza dell’Unità Italiana, close to landmarks such as the Duomo, Basilica di Santa Maria Novella and the city’s shopping district. 

The property houses 119 rooms, including 16 suites and one penthouse, which features a private terrace. 

There are two dining venues currently open to guests: W Lounge, which serves cocktails and canapés, and Italian restaurant Tratto. 

Two additional restaurants are expected to open later this summer. Zefiro Rooftop will serve cocktails and small bites as well as host pop-up pizza and weekly live music events, while Akira Back Florence will offer the Michelin-lauded chef’s signature modern Japanese and Korean cuisine.

W Hotels also recently announced the opening of a property in Sardinia this August.
