Cabezas has more than 25 years’ leadership experience including at Azamara
Silversea Cruises has recruited former Azamara president Carol Cabezas as its senior vice-president of global sales.
In her new role, which she began on October 14, Cabezas will report to Silversea president Bert Hernandez and oversee the brand’s global sales strategy, including trade and consumer sales, call centres and e-commerce.
Cabezas has more than 25 years of leadership experience and served as president of Azamara between 2021 and 2023, overseeing the line’s sale from the Royal Caribbean Group. Prior to that, she was the line’s chief operating officer.
Silversea said Cabezas has “built and led high-performing commercial teams that have delivered strong business results” throughout her career.
“Carol’s extensive experience and proven leadership across global sales functions make her a valuable addition to the Silversea leadership team,” added Hernandez.
“We are confident that her strategic insight and commitment to partnership will further strengthen our position in the luxury cruise market.”
Outgoing Silversea senior vice president of global sales Barbara Biffi has joined Kempinski Hotels as chief brand officer.
Former Silversea president Barbara Muckerman is group chief executive of the luxury hotel group.
Biffi will lead the strategic overhaul of Kempinski’s brand and marketing.
Muckerman said Biffi’s “international background and proven track record in luxury brand strategy and digital transformation will be vital as we strengthen our positioning, grounded in heritage and craftsmanship, and continue to evolve the Kempinski experience.
“She will be instrumental in aligning every touchpoint of our portfolio with the needs and aspirations of today’s global luxury traveller.”
