Luxury hotel app reports a 179% increase in bookings for October holidays
Private members’ club and hotel booking app Little Emperors has branded October as the “new peak season for discerning travellers” following a 179% surge in holiday bookings for the month made during the summer.
Factors such as milder weather, cultural festivals and fewer crowds are reported to have helped fuel the demand, which has resulted in an overall 22% year-on-year increase for October travel.
Recent data from the company also revealed that travellers value flexibility, with 64% of those surveyed choosing late check-out as their preferred benefit at a hotel.
Brands such as The Peninsula and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts are capitalising on this demand, offering perks such as 6am check-in and unspecified check-in and check-out times.
Little Emperors said its members are also seeking experiences that “go beyond the traditional”, including after-dark activities such as stargazing rituals (pictured), with 62% of travellers considering how night-time destinations can elevate their trips.
