Country pinned as one of brand’s ‘most significant growth markets’
Luxury hospitality brand Nobu is set to boost its presence in Egypt with the opening of three new developments.
The brand said the “ambitious” trio of developments “establishes Egypt as one of the most significant growth markets in Nobu’s global portfolio”.
Nobu Hotel and Residences North Coast will debut on the country’s Mediterranean coast alongside the Nobu restaurant that opened in the location last year.
Set within coastal development Ogami, the property will be a “complete Nobu lifestyle destination”, with a hotel and residences, as well as dining and wellness spaces. An official opening date is yet to be announced.
Elsewhere, Nobu New Cairo is one of two developments in the capital. Located in Eastown District New Cairo, the brand will open its signature restaurant this summer, followed by a hotel next year.
A third Nobu Hotel and Residences is expected to open in New Zayed in west Cairo in 2027. It will form part of the signature development from Egyptian real estate developer Sodic, who has partnered with Nobu on the three new projects.
It will be situated close to sights including the Pyramids, the Great Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Nobu co-founder Trevor Howell said: “We saw the investment and interest going into Egypt, and we thought that now is the right time [to launch there]. Each property will be different, and I think what’s great is you can cross-sell each destination.
“If guests are going to the North Coast and they want to also go into Cairo, you’ve got two hotel offerings where you can send guests to see downtown Cairo, the museums, the pyramids and so on. We see that as a big plus.”
Sodic general manager Ayman Amer added: "Our collaboration with Nobu brings together two brands that share a commitment to quality, elevated experiences and long-term value creation.
“Through Ogami and our wider developments, we are creating destinations that place Egypt firmly on the map for a new generation of global travellers, investors and homeowners."
