He has been with the company for more than 18 years
Brett Armitage has stepped down as Kerzner International’s chief commercial officer.
Confirming his departure on LinkedIn, Armitage reflected on “an extraordinary experience” overseeing the commercial function of the group’s four brands: Atlantis Dubai, One&Only Resorts, Siro and Rare Finds.
Armitage left the company on March 21 and is on gardening leave “before embarking on [his] next adventure”.
Kerzner International said Armitage’s replacement would be announced in due course.
Armitage has been with the company for more than 18 years, starting as senior vice-president of sales for Atlantis The Palm in 2007 before rising the ranks to senior vice-president of global sales for Atlantis and One&Only. He was made chief commercial officer in June 2019.
Prior to joining Kerzner International, Armitage held sales and marketing roles for InterContinental Hotels Group, Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts and The Savoy Group.
He wrote on LinkedIn: “The last six years as Chief Commercial Officer have been the most fulfilling of my career. Leading the commercial function, I’ve had the opportunity to drive significant growth, doubling top-line revenue, while also overseeing the successful opening of nine hotels, including The Royal Atlantis and One&Only One Za’abeel, both of which have redefined luxury and captured global attention.”
He said one of his “greatest privileges” was working with Kerzner International founder and former chairman and chief executive Sol Kerzner, adding: “Sol was more than just a visionary, he was a force of nature, a man whose charisma was as legendary as his ability to dream big and turn those dreams into reality. His relentless pursuit of excellence shaped Kerzner’s DNA, and I am eternally grateful for the lessons I learned from him.”
He continued: “I am deeply grateful to the incredible team I’ve had the privilege to build and lead. Their passion, resilience, and drive have been the true engine of our success. Together, we’ve pushed boundaries, embraced innovation, and achieved extraordinary things. To each and every one of you, thank you for your trust, dedication, and belief in our vision.
“I also want to express my sincere appreciation to Kerzner’s leadership, our CEO, the senior executive team, our ownership at ICD, and the board members for their unwavering support, vision, and commitment to excellence. It has been an honor [sic] to be part of this journey under such inspiring leadership.”
