Penny Naoum has published new resource under consultancy she founded last year
Domes Resorts’ former sales director has published a new wellness journal she hopes will help agents "look after themselves".
Penny Naoum has released The Serendipity Agenda under her own publishing and consultancy company Penny’s Serendipity House, which she launched last year.
Speaking to Aspire, the former director of sales and marketing for the UK said she has experienced two periods of burnout in her career and wanted to provide a resource for others in the industry to “look after themselves”.
Naoum feels this is particularly applicable to agents, explaining: “[Agents] always support their clients – they always help others. So, this is a way to give back to them and [encourage them to] support themselves.”
She hopes the wellbeing tracker included within the journal will also be useful for travel professionals. “Attending travel events can lead to bad habits like increased alcohol [consumption], eating dinner very late, staying up late and travelling across time zones, so it’s hard to take care of yourself,” she said.
The aim of The Serendipity Agenda is to show “a holistic perspective of a human across all areas of their life”.
The journal is based on four key pillars: “Wellness, self-awareness and emotional intelligence, success and fulfilment, and self-compassion.”
The book provides a year-long diary and habit tracker, with charts on every page to analyse factors including food, hydration, sleep, pain, digital usage and more.
Workbook exercises help users ascertain their “core values” and “priorities”, helping plan their goals through a “vision board” that is revisited at the end of the year.
The book also includes motivational passages and information on “biohacking” – the practice of using holistic therapies and functional medicine to improve health and wellbeing.
Naoum was inspired to include this element after personal health crises, saying: “Medically speaking, my case was complicated, so I had to track everything from diet to sleep to pain, and I ended up having so many different notebooks. I thought there must be a better way.”
She hopes to provide further resources, including downloadable guides and online training courses on topics such as wellness, budgeting and starting out in travel.
Naoum added that she would like to collaborate with healthcare practitioners on more focused resources in the future.
She said: “My goal is to make people’s lives easier – people are busy, and rather than having to do research or create resources themselves, I can do it for them.”
The Serendipity Agenda is available to purchase online for £42.97.
