Explora II will now operate in the Mediterranean for the winter 2026-27 season
Explora Journeys has confirmed its upcoming Middle East sailings will be rerouted to the Mediterranean.
Explora II was scheduled to sail in the Middle East from November 2026 to March 2027, but the line has said the deployment will “no longer take place”, with the ship instead operating itineraries across the western Mediterranean.
A statement from the brand said: “This decision has been taken well in advance, following careful consideration and reflecting Explora Journeys’ commitment to providing guests and travel advisors with clarity and confidence as they plan their future journeys.”
Explora II will now visit destinations such as Funchal, Casablanca and Ibiza, as well as countries in North Africa.
The new itineraries will offer guests the chance to explore the region’s “ancient cities and coastal landscapes” with fewer crowds in a “more intimate and relaxed setting”.
All travel agents with clients booked on impacted sailings will be contacted directly, with further details of the new itineraries to be announced at the end of the month.
