Cunard to carry out ‘extensive transformation’ of Queen Victoria

Cunard has unveiled plans for “an extensive transformation” of Queen Victoria, including the introduction of new staterooms and a wellness cafe.

The changes will be made during a three-week refit at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam between October 17 and November 5.

Queen Victoria will return to service on November 7 and operate sailings in the Mediterranean, the Norwegian fjords and the Canary Islands in 2027.

The 2,000-passenger ship’s Grand Lobby and Queens Room will be refurbished to “reinforce their timeless elegance”, while the luxury Grill Suites will receive new furnishings.

Eight Britannia staterooms will be added, with three from a new category, the Britannia Deluxe Oceanview with floor-to-ceiling windows. 

These will go on sale from July 20 for voyages sailing from November 11.

The Pavilion Wellness Cafe will be introduced on Queen Victoria and serve breakfast, lunch and daytime dining, following the venue’s debut on Queen Anne in 2024 and Queen Elizabeth in 2025.
