Anantara to expand in UAE with new resort and residences

Minor Hotels is expanding its Anantara portfolio in the United Arab Emirates with a new resort and residence complex set to open in late 2027.

The property is located on the coastline of the Arabian Gulf in Sharjah, a 30-minute drive from Dubai International Airport.

Anantara Sharjah Resort will feature 110 rooms and suites including multiple penthouse suites.

There will also be 128 one to four-bedroom residences and four-bedroom penthouses with rooftop pools and private balconies for sale.

The property will have five restaurants including Anantara’s signature pan-Asian fine dining venue Mekong, as well as a poolside eatery, cafe lounge, a beachfront restaurant and speciality venue serving local dishes.

Guests can also enjoy a spa, gym and infinity pool as well as host business gatherings or social events in the 400-square-metre meeting space.

Dillip Rajakarier, chief executive of Minor Hotels and group chief executive of parent company Minor International, said: “In recent years, Sharjah has blossomed into a cultural hub, drawing both vacationers and business visitors with its coastal charm and making it an optimal destination for our latest venture in the Middle East.”

The opening follows the launch of two new Anantara properties in the UAE this year: Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras El Khaimah Resort and Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat.
