Attendees say Aspire partner trip has had ‘ripple effect’ in generating sales
More than £100,000 in Ikos Resorts bookings have been made since the inaugural Ikos Resorts day-long fam trip in June.
The Taste of Ikos trip, held in partnership with Aspire, saw six agents visit Ikos Andalusia for a day of familiarisation, food and cocktail making, during which guests learned more about the portfolio.
One of the attendees was Heather Bissix of Travel Counsellors, who has since secured three bookings worth a total of £33,000 across Ikos Andalusia, Ikos Dassia in Corfu and Ikos Porto Petro in Majorca.
She praised the day-long fam trip format, saying: “I think the concept of the day is great if you’re a busy, independent agent. We got to see the resort and experience the food, so it doesn’t feel like there was any compromise.”
Bissix attributes the booking success in part to posting on social media, which generated “a lot” of interest. She said: “The Andalusia booking came straight from [social media], and the other two came after looking at other resorts. There has been a ripple effect after the trip.”
Kent-based Travel-PA agent Donna Gregson also publicised her attendance on social media, leading to three bookings at the Andalusia property worth around £40,000.
She said: “Understanding the Ikos Resorts concept after visiting helped me to secure several bookings just days after returning.
“I have many clients who return to the brand year after year, and it’s nice to talk to them with full confidence now I know the offering myself. It’s been even more helpful when trying to encourage new customers to consider an Ikos property.”
As well as the bookings made by Bissix and Gregson, other attendees have also secured subsequent sales, with Ikos Resorts reporting “more than £100,000” across a total of eight bookings as a result of the trip.
Bissix would “100% recommend” other agents try the fam trip format, saying: “You’re not taking several days out of the office like you would on a normal fam trip – I think it works really well.
“It can generate new business as well as create interest among existing clients who haven’t been to Ikos before.”
Ikos Resorts plans to partner with Aspire for another Taste of Ikos day trip in 2027, with more details to come soon.
Lee Baker, senior regional director of sales and marketing, said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to give our valued trade partners the chance to experience Ikos Andalusia firsthand, in collaboration with Aspire.
“This trip provides an invaluable opportunity for them to fully immerse themselves in and understand our unique luxury all-inclusive concept, experiencing the exceptional quality, service and attention to detail that set Ikos apart.
“Importantly, the format of the trip allowed them to gain this firsthand insight without needing to be away from home for more than a day, making it an accessible and effective way to showcase everything Ikos has to offer.”
Following the inaugural Taste of Ikos trip, the brand also plans to help agents organise similar day trips for their clients, with two already confirmed.
Agents who wish to showcase Ikos properties to their clients in this way are advised to contact their regional sales manager for more information.
