Sister ships SS Marlene and SS Audrey to debut in 2027
Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has revealed the first designs of its upcoming new-build vessels.
Sister ships, SS Marlene and SS Audrey, are due to debut in 2027.
The vessels will each have different designs inspired by the film stars they are named after, Marlene Dietrich and Audrey Hepburn, and the periods they lived in.
Each will have capacity for 154 passengers and a similar layout to SS Emilie, including an aft bar lounge, private dining room and a Grand Suite which can combine two bedrooms for family or group bookings.
SS Marlene will have an art deco design with gold and warm accent colours.
The ship will start sailing on March 27, 2027, on an inaugural ‘Tulips & Windmills’ cruise, starting from £3,419, and will also offer voyages on the ‘Enchanting Danube’ and ‘Delightful Danube’ itineraries, which lead in from £2,719 and £2,564.
SS Audrey will have a “mid-century modern” design with geometric patterns and green, gold and blue colours.
The ship will debut on April 16, 2027, with a ‘Remarkable Rhine & Historic Holland’ cruise, starting from £3,104.
During its inaugural season, the vessel will operate two new itineraries: the ‘Paris, Prague & Germany’s Hidden Gems’ from £4,814 and the ‘Scenic Rhine, Paris & the Swiss Alps’ from £5,804.
Following SS Marlene and SS Audrey, SS São Rafael will debut on the Douro River in 2027, and a charter of Aqua Blu in Indonesia and Singapore will follow in 2028.
The 94-passenger SS São Rafael will become the luxury operator’s second vessel in Portugal.
President and chief executive Ellen Bettridge said: “One-of-a-kind design has always been central to the Uniworld experience.
“With the SS Audrey and SS Marlene, we’re celebrating two women whose style defined an era.
“These ships bring their spirit to life through thoughtful details and spaces created to deepen our guests’ connection to the destinations along the journey, and we’re excited to share a sneak peek inside.”
