Group’s recently launched Winter Collection includes four South African hotels
The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) has introduced 10 hotels to its portfolio as part of its Winter Collection.
The latest intake includes four properties in South Africa, including 16-key La Residence in Franschhoek (pictured), which combines “vineyard glamour with mountain serenity”, and Royal Malewane with four lodges and three villas in the heart of Kruger National Park.
Also in South Africa is 11-room Birkenhead House in the seaside town of Hermanus, where guests can forage for mussels or spot whales, along with Cape Town’s The Silo Hotel, where a historic grain elevator above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa has been transformed into an “architecturally bold” hotel.
The final African addition is Diana Dea Lodge on the Indian Ocean’s Reunion Island – a property where “modern comfort” blends with the “wild landscape” in rooms, suites and luxury tents with forest and ocean views.
Five hotels in Europe have also been added to the portfolio: Argos in Cappadocia, Turkey; Castel Badia, Italy; Grand Resort Zürserhof, Austria; Huus Quell by Appenzeller Huus, Switzerland; and The Florentin, Germany.
Deniz Omurgonulsen, vice-president of member experience across LHW, said: “Our Winter Collection is exciting, because it truly shows how LHW is consciously expanding in terms of diverse destinations and experiences.
“All [the new properties] have the ‘LHW DNA’: family-led vision, cultural integrity and joyful hospitality experiences of the highest level. We’re absolutely delighted to welcome these 10 remarkable new members into the LHW family.”
The LHW portfolio now comprises more than 425 properties across the world.
