Shangri-La to open second property in Turkey
Resort in Bodrum set to welcome guests in first half of 2029

Luxury hotel company Shangri-La Group is set to open a resort in Bodrum, Turkey, in the first half of 2029.
Shangri-La Bodrum will be the hotel group’s second Turkish property, joining Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul, which opened in 2013.
The hotel will be situated in the enclave of Yalikavak in the northwest of the Bodrum peninsula and will house 70 rooms and 10 private villas, alongside a private beach on the shore of the Aegean Sea.
The opening reflects the company’s goal to increase its presence in the Mediterranean and Europe at large.
The signing ceremony took place at Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong and was attended by representatives from Shangri-La and local tourist board United Bodrum Turizm.
Chee Wui Chua, executive director and chief financial officer of Shangri-La Group, said: “Bodrum’s spectacular natural setting, international appeal and rising recognition as a global luxury hub make it an exceptional addition to our portfolio.
“We are delighted to bring Shangri-La’s timeless hospitality and contemporary sophistication to this remarkable corner of the world.”
Güngör Çepni, chairman of United Bodrum Turizm, added: “We are proud to collaborate with Shangri-La Group on a project that will redefine luxury hospitality in Bodrum. This resort will set a new benchmark for refined living and elevate Bodrum’s global standing as a destination of distinction.”
