Nine agents have been selected to join Grecotel Hotels & Resorts on a two-day charity hike to Crete to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.

The agents include Alexis Lingham, The Personal Travel Agents; Ben Poole, The Travel Journal; Britt-Marie Monks and Nicola Killen, both The Holiday Fixer; Kim Prince, Designer Travel; Kirsty Mitchell, Travelosophers; Louise Rush, Louane Tailored Travel; and Sarah Jennings and Sonia Murray-Smith, both Travel Counsellors.

The event in September will see the group scale Crete’s tallest mountain, Mount Psiloritis, and traverse Samaria Gorge, the second-longest gorge in Europe.

The trip, organised in partnership with sister titles Aspire and Travel Weekly, will raise vital funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s leading research and support charity for breast cancer.

The event will be led by Konstantinos Savathrakis, owner of outdoor activity specialist Creative Adventures, which offers exclusive and tailor-made excursions throughout Crete.

The hike will also be attended by Kostas Sinis, Grecotel’s director of UK and luxury, and Aspire’s business development manager, Toni Austin.

Participants will stay at Grecotel Creta Palace in Rethymno for the duration of the trip.

Grecotel’s UK sales manager Liz Shaw said: “Breast cancer touches far too many lives – including the remarkable women who form the backbone of the UK travel industry. This initiative is about more than just raising funds; it’s about honouring those who’ve been affected, standing in solidarity with those still fighting and remembering those we’ve lost.

“We’re aiming to raise at least £5,000 for Breast Cancer Now, while also shining a spotlight on the power of resilience and community. As part of this, a group of inspiring people will be taking on a demanding two-day trek across Crete - a journey that mirrors the courage, strength and determination shown in the face of breast cancer.”

Sinis added: “We were blown away by the number of people who nominated themselves for this challenge - it was an incredibly tough decision to pick just nine agents to take part. A huge thank you to everyone who entered, and to all those who have donated so far.”
