Bertrand’s Townhouse will feature 43 rooms with ‘historic charm’
New boutique hotel Bertrand’s Townhouse will open in London’s Bedford Place in winter 2025/26.
The 43-key property will be set across three Georgian townhouses with a nod to Bloomsbury’s artistic past.
The hotel takes its name from 20th-century intellectual Bertrand Russell, with interiors that honour the Bloomsbury Set – the group of writers and artists Russell was part of. Decor incorporates “a touch of Bloomsbury mischief through whimsical interiors, eclectic art and thought-provoking details”.
Each room will include historic features such as decorative fireplaces, woodwork and standalone bathtubs, with a colour palette of “rich ochres, vibrant reds and deep indigo blues”.
Dining venue Ottie’s Salon will serve coffee and pastries in the morning and then offer an all-day dining menu, before transforming into a speakeasy with jazz music and cocktails.
The Cigar Garden will be a “theatrical” outdoor terrace with vintage trolleys offering aged spirits and a curated cigar selection.
A number of London’s visitor attractions are within easy reach, including The British Museum, Charles Dickens Museum and Senate House.
Rates at Bertrand’s Townhouse will start from £300 a night.
